If you want to be an online marketer, I’d like for you to do a little numbers game to show you the vast potential there is in the latest idea for a hot money maker. Go to the busiest place you can think of this weekend. It could be the local mall, a park, a sporting event – anywhere there will be a lot of pedestrian traffic. Take a pad of paper and a pen with you. Now, be observant. How many people do you see that are wearing t-shirt of any description? Every time you see someone, make a note of it.
At the end of a period of several hours, if you have visited during a busy time of day, you should be pretty convinced that t-shirts are hugely popular. So, what does this have to do with MySpace or an online business? Plenty. There is a huge market for MySpace t-shirts. Yes, there are a few places online that sell them, but the potential is there for a clever marketer to use these t-shirts to their advantage. Considering that more than 75 million people have MySpace accounts, with 15 million of these people logging in every single day, I think it is safe to assume that MySpace is popular. Plus, consider that there are a couple of hundred thousand new sign-ups every day, and you start to get the picture.
Anyone selling MySpace t-shirts online at a reasonable price would more than likely find themselves making money hand over fist. But, what if you already have a product to sell? You can still have a few thousand MySpace t-shirts made up, and place the web address of your own web site on the back of the shirt! People will buy the shirts because they adore MySpace. Your own site will get ample exposure. What could be better than that?
Here’s an example of just one way to handle this. There are many, many basketball MySpace layouts out there, as well as Playboy MySpace layouts. You can capitalize on just those two subjects, if you like, or choose a couple more. Get as many of these people on your Friend list as possible. Then, send out Bulletins advising that you have MySpace t-shirts. Mention that you have the popular ones, such as “MySpace Stalker”, “Tom is NOT my Friend”, “Yes, I’m on MySpace”. You could even post a couple of pictures of yourself wearing each t-shirt in turn on your profile so that people on your list can see what the shirts look like.
Hopefully, your shirts will be a hit, and those on your Friend list will pass the Bulletins you send out on to others by re-posting them. Bulletins stay up for ten days before they are deleted, so you will have maximum exposure. You may also have inquiries in your Comments section about your MySpace t-shirts that you have for sale. Handle them with aplomb, and you may soon have as much business as you can handle. Thanks, MySpace!
